You might just have a defective device, usually you can get these swapped at the store without any charge to you. Warranty's got you covered for at least the first year you have the device, anything past that would probably have to be through insurance (if you have it on your plan).

I'd do that if it weren't for the fact that I inherited it from my mom, who got it about three years ago. |D My dad got the cellphone for some kind of plan set up and gave it to her; he never listened when she told him it was defective and thus we have the nice situation that we...well, have. :3

Not sure if we have insurance on the plan since I haven't paid attention to that sort of stuff. /fails. I doubt it though since it would have come up in a conversation at some point, methinks~.</sup>
